Laser Stacking: A Personalized Approach to Better Skin
October is officially behind us, the temperatures are dropping, and one of our favorite times of year at Flawless Aesthetics is finally here: laser season!
With summer vacations, lake days, and long afternoons in the sun behind us, it's a great time to start thinking about repairing accumulated sun damage and giving your skin a little extra attention. And if you've been considering laser treatments, you might be surprised to learn that sometimes the best approach involves more than one technology.
After all, sunspots, enlarged pores, fine lines, and skin laxity don't always show up one at a time. So why would we expect one treatment to address them all?
That's where laser stacking comes in.

What Is Laser Stacking?
Laser stacking is the practice of combining different laser or light-based treatments to address multiple skin concerns within a coordinated treatment plan.
Some combinations can be performed during the same appointment, while others are better spaced apart to allow for proper healing.
The idea is relatively simple. Different technologies work in different ways and at different depths of the skin.
For example, one treatment might target unwanted pigmentation and redness, while another focuses on skin texture or deeper collagen remodeling.
By pairing complementary technologies, we can create a more comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation rather than expecting one device to accomplish everything.
And although laser stacking technically refers to laser and light-based treatments, our providers may also incorporate microneedling or radiofrequency treatments into the same session when appropriate.
What Does Laser Stacking Look Like at Flawless Aesthetics?
One of the biggest advantages of having access to multiple advanced technologies is the ability to customize treatments based on your skin concerns, goals, and desired recovery time.
At Flawless Aesthetics, our providers can combine laser, light-based, and microneedling treatments to address different aspects of skin rejuvenation, sometimes during the same appointment.
Here are a few combinations we may recommend.
BBL + MOXI: A Great Introduction to Laser Rejuvenation
If you've never had a laser treatment before, BBL + MOXI can be a wonderful place to start.
BBL HERO uses broadband light technology to target sunspots, unwanted pigmentation, and redness, while MOXI, a nonablative fractional laser, helps improve skin texture, early signs of sun damage, and overall skin quality.

Together, they address both tone and texture, making this pairing especially appealing to patients looking for a refreshed complexion without the recovery associated with more intensive resurfacing.
While temporary redness and a slightly rough, sandpaper-like texture are common during healing, many patients find the downtime relatively manageable.
We've actually written an entire article about how BBL and MOXI work together if you'd like to learn more about this popular pairing.
Combination best suited for: Patients new to laser treatments who want to address sunspots, redness, uneven skin tone, and early signs of sun damage with relatively manageable downtime.
Glowshow: Sylfirm X + CoolPeel for Skin Tightening and Resurfacing
For patients concerned about enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven texture, and declining skin firmness, Flawless offers a combination treatment we've named Glowshow.
Glowshow pairs two complementary technologies: Sylfirm X RF microneedling and CO2 CoolPeel laser resurfacing.

Sylfirm X uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen remodeling beneath the skin's surface, helping improve skin firmness and the appearance of enlarged pores. Meanwhile, CoolPeel focuses on resurfacing the skin to address fine lines, sun damage, and uneven texture.
By combining these treatments, we're able to target both the skin's surface and its underlying structure during one appointment.
Combination best suited for: Patients concerned about enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven texture, and mild skin laxity who want to improve both surface texture and skin firmness.
BBL + HALO TRIBRID: A More Comprehensive Approach to Laser Resurfacing
For patients dealing with years of accumulated sun damage, stubborn discoloration, rough texture, and more noticeable signs of aging, a more comprehensive resurfacing approach may be worth considering.
At Flawless Aesthetics, we can combine BBL HERO with HALO TRIBRID to address multiple aspects of skin aging within a personalized treatment plan.

BBL uses broadband light (an advanced form of IPL technology) to target unwanted pigmentation and redness. HALO TRIBRID takes rejuvenation further with three laser wavelengths that treat different depths of the skin, helping improve fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and overall skin quality while stimulating collagen remodeling.
This combination may be especially appealing to patients who want to address several concerns at once, rather than focusing on a single aspect of their complexion.
Because HALO TRIBRID is highly customizable, our providers can adjust treatment intensity based on your skin concerns, goals, and tolerance for downtime.
Combination best suited for: Patients with more extensive sun damage, stubborn discoloration, rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and multiple visible signs of skin aging.

Does Laser Stacking Mean More Downtime?
Not necessarily! The amount of downtime depends on which treatments are combined, their intensity, and how your individual skin responds.
For example, a gentler combination like BBL + MOXI typically involves relatively manageable recovery. You may experience some redness, mild swelling, or a rough, sandpaper-like texture as your skin heals.
More intensive combinations, such as those incorporating RF microneedling or deeper laser resurfacing, may require additional recovery time. Depending on your treatment plan, you may need to allow approximately a week of social downtime.
It's also worth noting that combining treatments doesn't automatically mean faster results or less downtime. In some cases, stacking increases treatment intensity, making proper healing and aftercare especially important.
And while improvements in pigmentation may become noticeable relatively quickly, collagen remodeling takes time. Changes in skin firmness and texture often continue developing over the following weeks and months.
Is Laser Stacking Right for You?
While combining technologies can offer a more comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation, more treatments don't always mean better results.
At Flawless Aesthetics, we consider your skin type, medical history, recent sun exposure, individual concerns, and tolerance for downtime before recommending a treatment plan.
Certain combinations can be performed during the same appointment, while others may be better spaced apart to allow for proper healing. And for some patients, a single treatment or series may be the most appropriate approach.
Proper preparation and aftercare are just as important as the treatments themselves. Following your provider's pre-treatment instructions, protecting your skin from sun exposure, and adhering to your recommended post-treatment skincare routine all play an important role in supporting healing and minimizing complications.
